2026 Piano Festival

PRODIGIO SCHOOL OF MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026 Festival

GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES


1. The Prodigio School of Music Festival is open to all pianists of any age and level of study.

2. Entries are divided by grade level according to the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) or equivalent standard.

3. Students may enter multiple categories and levels if eligible.

4. All pieces must be memorized for performance unless otherwise specified.

5. Competitors must provide an original copy of their music to the adjudicator’s assistant prior to the class start time.

6. For printed or digital copies, proof of purchase must be shown.

7. Photocopies will not be accepted without appropriate licensing permissions.

8. Each participant must check in 15 minutes before their scheduled performance time. 9. Participants, teachers, and audience members must maintain a respectful and quiet environment during performances.

10. Participants who fail to appear for their session will forfeit their right to perform competitively.

11. Festival piano may not be used for rehearsal or warm up purposes.

12. Questions should be directed to festival assistants. No communication with the adjudicator is permitted. Disregard to this may result in disqualification for the participant.

13. Entry fees are non-refundable.


MUSIC SUBMISSION & PROCEDURES


• Upon arrival, performers must submit their original score to the adjudicator’s assistant with each selection clearly marked.

• All measures must be numbered for adjudication reference. • Music must be retrieved immediately following adjudication.

• Late arrivals may result in forfeiture of performance opportunity unless prior arrangements are made.


ADJUDICATION & AWARDS


• An accredited adjudicator will provide written and verbal feedback.

• Marks and comments are based on interpretation, musicality, accuracy, and stage presentation.

• Adjudicator decisions are final and may not be contested.

• Certificates of Merit will be presented to all participants. Certificates for Champion, Gold, Silver and Bronze will be presented based on the participants mark. Awards will be presented at the Honor's Concert.

• Outstanding performers may be selected for special recognition and recommendation for the Honor's Concert.


ENTRY CLASSES


Entry classes are based on grade levels as outlined in the separate Class Listing form provided. Participants should consult their teachers to determine appropriate placement. Registration Form must have all entries filled in. Fees are $20 per entry. Fees are payable on the entry form link to complete the registration.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The festival committee reserves the right to adjust scheduling and categories as needed.

• All communication regarding entries and scheduling will be handled via email.

• Teachers are encouraged to ensure students are familiar with performance etiquette and expectations. We look forward to celebrating the talent and dedication of all our young musicians!
